Art Knight is one of UCF CAH's most popular events— with premiums, food trucks, djs, and other small businesses collaborating with the venue and creating revenue. Although, because it happens once a year, it's hard to commemorate the event and pay homage to the artists that participated and may possibly result in a bad/nonexistent social media presence — even stunting returns on future events.
Additionally, there's always the notion that art appreciation is high barrier to entry and university-hosted events (especially non-sports related) are not cool.
We solve the problem of a media presence by creating content meant for virality that puts the art and venue as the focal point as protagonists explain and interact with the art to make the video engaging and matches the artistic nature. Filmed on a degrading hi-8 tape amplifies this and also gives the event a timeless nature.
Video has all the components for short-form virality and bringing a modern sense of "coolness" to the event (made simple but effective music for client and edits like cuts and transitions that have been proven to increase audience retention).
